Christmas Rucksacks for Winchester Homeless

Swanmore Methodist Tuesday Ladies Club

As the weather gets colder, Swanmore Methodist Tuesday Ladies Club (TLC) passed on some practical warmth to the homeless of Winchester. Some 20 rucksacks full of gloves, hats, coats, fleeces, washing items and chocolates were prepared during the early days of November and packed ready for onward transport to Trinity Homeless Charity in Winchester.

So a little “TLC” from Swanmore Methodists’ TLC can come in useful.

Trinity’s direct access services are the first port of call for many people experiencing homelessness, social isolation and the impact of poverty within the City of Winchester. Services range from meeting the most basic of human needs in terms of bathing, laundry, clothes, and warmth, as well as a nutritious and hearty hot meal. Trinity’s Support, Change and Aspire programmes allow people to access all levels of help, from learning, advice and therapies right through to housing, qualifications and employment opportunities.

Last year 6 rucksacks were sent to Trinity but Mavis Daniels said TLC were amazed at this year’s response to their appeal for help.

Thank you Swanmore.
